Reflecting on a year of HyTra
2 Min read

A year ago, we partnered with two phenomenal institutions, Fraunhofer IWU and Texulting, on a groundbreaking project: HyTra. This ambitious initiative aimed to harness the power of green hydrogen to create a more sustainable energy future for South Africa.

A Year of Innovation

As we reflect on the past year, we can’t help but be filled with a sense of accomplishment. The HyTra demonstrator, installed at our Fitment Centre in Cape Town, has been a beacon of innovation and is a symbol of our commitment to a cleaner planet.

The Impact So Far

Green hydrogen, produced through electrolysis using renewable energy sources, has proven its potential to revolutionize energy systems. By utilizing HyTra, we have been able to significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and the power grid at large.

  • Reliable Power: The HyTra demonstrator has provided a reliable power supply to Alu-Cab, even during periods of load shedding.

  • Reduced Emissions: By switching to green hydrogen, we’ve been able to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner environment.

  • A Brighter Future: This project has inspired countless students and researchers, paving the way for future advancements in green technology.

As we move forward, we’re excited to continue exploring the potential of green hydrogen alongside our partners at Fraunhofer IWU and Texulting. We believe that this technology has the power to transform industries and communities. By working together, we can create a sustainable future for generations to come.
