I never thought of myself as a jet-setter, but right now I am starting to feel that’s exactly what I am! Since our last newsletter, I’ve been to the east coast of Australia and the west coast of the USA. The time difference between these two parts of the world is around 17 hours! My next destination is the Allrad Show, Badkissingen, Germany. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing new places, but the travel can take its toll.
Land Rover Defender rooftop sleeper conversion
We are very excited to announce that we are in the process of testing and tweaking our new drive-off camper before we let it loose into the market place. The Khaya Camper, as we have named it, is our new 2 sleeper drive off camper, built to fit most double cabs and cab and a half Bakkies. We have built these before, only this time around we have combined our 15 years of experience into building the ultimate roll-on-roll-off camper, or as the Americans call it, slide-on-slide-off.
It is time for the next adventure. This time round, we decided to leave the African continent and look at the BRICS countries. South Africa, together with Brazil, Russia, India and China are all leading developing or newly industrialized countries. This block represents more than half the world’s population. South Africa plays a minor role in BRICS, but we represent Africa. It is important that we know what is happening in the four major players.
This is the 40th edition since the establishment of the Eagle’s Eye in 2004, and I am fortunate to have contributed my views from the programme manager’s perspective in each edition since its inception. The aim of the electronic newsletter of the programme is to share interesting experiences and lessons learnt from the field with readers and each other rather than sharing hard scientific data. I would like to thank every EWT-BoPP staff member, associate, volunteer and supporter who contributed material to this newsletter and trust that you will continue to do so into the future.
