Nicolas Walford
- Hercules, 80 Series Troopy, 250 Series Prado
- Australia
A true Toyota Land Cruiser devotee, Nick Walford’s fleet is built for serious adventure. He’s got two rugged 78 Series Troopys with full Alu-Cab Hercules conversions, a 250 Series Prado fitted with an LT-50 and an 80 Series ready for remote exploration.
Based in Melbourne but rarely there, he’s usually deep in Australia’s most isolated tracks, pushing the limits of off-grid touring.
For Nick, Alu-Cab isn’t just gear, it’s the difference between camping and living comfortably on the road. The roof conversions’ quick setup and standing room redefine convenience, while the rugged, weatherproof designs prove they’re built by people who understand real overlanding.
Through his platforms, Nick shares his passion for building unstoppable rigs, conquering Australia’s wildest routes, and inspiring others to embrace the touring lifestyle. It’s about adventure without compromise, backed by gear that never quits.
The build

His Troopys are kitted for ultimate self-sufficiency: Hercules roof conversions, Shadow Awnings, shower cubes, solar setups, and water tanks. All engineered for weeks of remote travel. The Prado, while more of a weekend warrior, still packs Alu-Cab’s signature durability for when the terrain gets tough.
