What do you want people to take away from your story?
To get out there and see what Australia has to offer! And that no matter who you are, you can go wherever you want, whenever you want. What you do with YOUR life is up to YOU.
How do you balance sharing hidden gems with preserving their secrecy?
If I found a place on a social media platform, then I may share it with my followers. If I got told a secret spot by a local, it doesn’t get shared.

What’s your favourite moment from the road?
When we first came to the Ningaloo we knew no one, by the time we’d left, we’d made friends for life. The campfires, diving missions, fishing days and skurfing arvos with these people is my “why”.
How do you decide what’s worth sharing vs. keeping private?
As a teacher I deeply consider what I post. I always think that if I wouldn’t want a student’s parents discussing something with me then I shouldn’t post it.

What’s the most surprising way this journey has changed you?
At home, I really enjoyed having a routine with work, gym, friends etc. But now I love the unknown. I love not knowing what we’ll do or see tomorrow. It keeps life exciting.

Best piece of advice for someone looking to start their own adventure?
The world isn’t scary. I was extremely anxious to leave the safety of my home town. Now that I’ve left, I can’t believe I was ever nervous. What Australia has to offer is awesome and the people are even better.

How do you hope your story shapes how people see Australia?
That Australia is not just pretty coastlines. Australia has everything from the outback, to forests, to mountains, to beaches and everything in between.
What’s one travel hack you’ve discovered that’s been a game-changer?
Packing cubes… Our clothes would be an absolute mess if they were just shoved into a cupboard. Packing cubes have made the car so organised and clean.

If you could only share one place in Australia with the world, what would it be?
Flinders Rangers. I think the Flinders is super underrated. It’s beautiful, easily accessible and not too busy. It’s the perfect outback trip for someone who is a bit too nervous to venture far from the coast.

What’s next for you?
On this lap of Australia, we are skipping Arnhem Land, so the goal is to buy a bigger boat and spend a bunch of time out there adventuring and fishing.
